May is packed full of warmer days, cold beers and fun times spent with friends and family. We have a brand new Cajun style pizza and more new beer and can releases coming your way this month. Our friends from El Segundo Brewing Company will be here on May 30th as part of our next Lockdown. Plus, we'll be brewing the Pro-Am winner of Romancing the Beer this month, so check out our May beer release calendar for all the details. Piece Of The Pie: Food Share Fundraiser!

All month long we're proud to be teaming up with Food Share to bring healthy meals to those in need in Ventura County. One in six people in Ventura County do not have access to nutritious food and we want to help change that. The rules are easy: simply buy any food item (pizza or pretzel) and we'll donate a meal through Food Share a non-profit organization dedicated to fighting hunger, providing education and increasing public awareness. 


May Specialty Pizza

This month’s specialty pizza is the Cajun Pizza! This pizza has a cajun sauce, shrimp, chicken andouille, okra, onion and bell pepper topped with cajun seasonings. This pizza pairs great with Batch 268, Cascade Pale Ale. Stop by for our lunch special Monday-Friday 11-2pm. The lunch special comes with an 8 inch pizza and a soda for only $7.


Trivia Tuesdays

Every Tuesday from 7pm-9pm we host a special Institution trivia night with the most talented quiz master around. Come test your random knowledge with friends, grab a pint and some pizza! Winners receive IAC gift cards.


LOCKDOWN: Featuring El Segundo Brewing Company

Join us the last Wednesday of the month for a Lockdown event with El Segundo Brewing Company. The Lockdown will be on Wednesday, May 30th. This one will be a ticketed event at the brewery so check back soon for all the details!


Upcoming Beers

The Hefe (Pro-Am Hefeweizen) - 5.4%
Our 5th Pro-am collaboration with TOAKED home brew club's Romancing The Beer winner. This year's winning beer was a traditional German-style Hefeweizen. "The Hefe" is an easy drinking wheat beer with minimal bitterness, bready malt character and soft mouthfeel. Expressive yeast puts out flavors and aromas of clove, apricot and citrus.

Batch 275 (Brut IPA) - 6.0%
This is our first take at a Brut IPA style beer. Brut IPAs are brewed to be ultra-dry, giving them a champagne-like body and effervescence. This style is also minimally hopped in the boil to keep bitterness low, but dry hopped aggressively for fruity aromatics. Nelson, Citra and Mosaic are used to create flavors of passion fruit, lychee, citrus and berries. 

Only Echoes Respond (IPA) - 6.4%
The next edition of our can release IPAs. "Echoes" is a touch fuller bodied than some of our other IPAs and showcases a fruity and dank hop profile thanks to Simcoe, Amarillo, Columbus and Centennial. It's only 6.4% and plenty bitter, making it a super drinkable and refreshing West Coast style IPA.

Thai Chili White Walls (White IPA) - 6.7%
One of our most popular spicy beers, we added a ton of Thai Chilies to our white IPA for a great blend of citrusy heat. It never lasts long, so come enjoy this spicy version of White Walls before it disappears.

Bell Tower IPA (IPA) - 7.8%
Bell Tower IPA was Inspired by our 3rd Anniversary beer. Massive late hop additions and generous dry hopping using Citra, Simcoe and Columbus give this IPA citrusy, piney flavors and refreshing bitterness.

Unit 28 (Double IPA) - 8.3%
One of our favorite Double IPAs returns! Unit 28 is our rarely released DIPA featuring Galaxy hops. This beer is all about hops and uses three of our favorites - Galaxy, Simcoe and Mosaic. The foundation is set by a light, crisp malt profile and assertive bitterness.

Batch 281 (Imp. Oatmeal Stout) - 8.8%
A smooth, rich Imp. Oatmeal Stout highlighted by chocolaty flavors and a creamy body. Balancing roast, caramel, coffee and cacao flavors, this non-adjunct stout is complex and not overbearing. Enjoy it on CO2 or Nitro!
